Disassemble the parts of the shield.
After sanding, the edges are much smoother now.
No more ugly nubs.
However there are some scratches on the plastic surface after sanding.
Can these scratches be covered by surface primer and later, paint?
Peace Out

harlo bro, im meggidodimus from hwz gundam forum.
ReplyDeletefor the last qn, u have to sand the surface using a higher grit sandpaper first. otherwise the marks will still show after u prime it.
400-800-1000, should be sufficient. try different combi of sandpaper to get a surface which u like, doesnt matter if we like it or not
actually the purpose of priming is to highlight the flaws ( nubs, uneven surfaces etc on the kit)
hoot hoot ur tools! good friday!!
ReplyDeleteSo hassle lar if bro want prime>paint. Just go get Gundam Marker Set Seed de, got the exact color match for that Dark Navy blue color 1.
ReplyDeleteBtw, sbhboi here. =) Peeps of hwz haha ~
Hi meggi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. I shall use finer-grit sandpaper to sand one more time before priming. ^^
Hi ongkh2000,
ReplyDeleteI have hoot my tools and a few SD kits today. Feeling high liao! Lol.....
Hi Evaritus,
ReplyDeleteI will maybe use Gundam Markers for the smaller parts.
the scratches will be cover by primer, provided they are not too deep
ReplyDeletejust your finger naail to go over the part and see whether isit smooth...
Hi Cleaver,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advise. I have just primed the parts.
Yes, the small scratches can be covered by the primer. ^^
